After Knowing that “Mindset” is recommended by Satya Nadella, the current chief executive officer of Microsoft, I could not stop myself to place the order for its purchase. Entirely different book ……based on psychology written by Dr. Carol S. Dweck. I always have an apprehension for tag “best-seller” as I find it a marketing gimmick ….with compromised quality. But this book has proved me wrong. It is written in so simple manner that one can read in one go except pausing sometimes for contemplation. Further, recognition of words from “Hindi” such as “guru” “pundits” in the book make “Hindi lovers” feel pride. There are innumerous things to quote from book. Like “Infants stretch their skill daily …..They never decide it too hard or not worth the effort.” “….Put yourself in growth mindset……..you are here to learn…feel the tension leaves you…..” Found very often in real-time that “…..burden of talent…. killing ….. enjoyment……” Revelation of all new concept “CEO disease- Speaking of reigning from atop a pedestal and wanting to be seen as perfect….” Quite realistic while suggesting “ …..Next time you are tempted to surround yourself with worshippers, go to church.” Interesting to know that” ……praising ability lowered the students IQs. And that praising their efforts raised them.” Amusing fact “choosing a partner is choosing a set of problems. There are no problem-free candidates.” Thought-provoking “ ….schools are for students’ learning…..Why aren’t they just as much for teachers’ learning?” While reading it , some similar kind of happening/ feeling struck to my mind. Such as the wonderful feel “……felt it was more exciting to start at the bottom again and see what ….. could grow into this time.” at the time when I joined MBA after a long gap…… “careless comments from male colleagues ….could fill ….with self- doubt” as recently I got the same for “kapsread” efforts - “anybody can do this.” “Mindset” reminded me of want of likability at social media “……more worthy than others……..the scariest thought…… possibility of being ordinary……need constant validation.” Examples of people with growth mindset proving scientifically, from every walk of life such as sports, business houses, schools are included. I think all parents, teachers should go for it. The book is about me, you and about every other being. It boosts to go from fix mindset to growth mindset. Only thing which irks while reading this, is -fonts are too small to read. I would like to re-read this creation to imbibe it completely. It’s a worth reading.
It is saying that to be simple is very complicated because we ourselves don’t want to be simple….Ur views on the book are as simple as u are…. although it is not applicable on ur vacab..lol…but after reading ur views on the book it seems more friendly with us
Nice be continue
