If want to live teenage again-especially boys-this book is for you. I picked this book for its funny, simple and fresh interior and exterior. With lines and cartoons, it took me back to school days when -until any character was not completely understood, next line in row always remained in wait to be read. It was the age when all parameters were set by peers and not by parents. Entire world was with, around, for and by friends.
The episode of books handed down in ….wimpy kid " But, when you get a book that ten kids had before you, it makes it kind of hard to do any actual learning " reminds me a similar incident of one of my friends-she got a book by her elder brother and found many lines were already marked as important to learn and rest were marked by her following direction of our teacher. Thus no line in entire book was left unmarked to cram-an uphill task for her. Was not it?!!!
Curious and cautious approach to advance health programme and smoking are described in a humorous way by Jeff Kinney.
Birth of sibling is narrated in amusing style “....see when you’re a little kid, nobody ever warns you that you’ve got an expiration date”
Taking on re-remarrying culture” when uncle Gary got married the third time………...Mom….just taped a photo of new wife’s head on top of the old one”
Pranks painted are lively and picturesque description just added it.
The Sunday Telegraph marked it very appropriate- “hilarious”
Coherence of incidents and lucidity in language is maintained throughout. Jokes told are very much American.
Guys will find the book as their own replica and parents, as if adolescent once again
.
Last week the moment I sat with this book, reaction came” what are you doing with this book. This book is meant for teenagers.” But then he was relieved to know that book was with me for a review. I thought for a while “what's harm even if I read this book after the age. When author can write about the years he has passed by why an age old reader can’t read it.”
